Generac Holdings or also commonly known just as Generac is a famous company from America. They are mainly known for manufacturing generators, for both industrial markets as well as residents.
The company has a wide range of output wattage that they can provide others with which ranges from 800 watts to a total of 9 megawatts. The IQ2000 is a recent lineup that was released by the brand.
This is an inverter generator that saves fuel consumption for people. Additionally, the noise made by the device is much lower when compared to a standard generator.
While the Generac IQ2000 is an amazing piece of equipment to go for, there are also some problems that you can get with it.
Considering this, we will be using this article to provide you with a list of common issues that you can get on the generator along with some ways to fix them.
Generac iQ2000 Problems
- Fuel Leaking
Generac provides its users with a manual that contains all the information about its generator. These are made specifically for the lineups released by the brand which makes all of the manuals unique.
Talking about this, most problems that you can get on your generator should already be provided in these books. Though, one common issue that many people get is that the fuel in their generator starts to leak.
You should note that there are multiple reasons why you can get this problem on your generator. This is exactly why it is recommended that you carefully check all of the parts of your device to ensure the error is fixed.
Start by taking a look at the carburetor of your generator. This device mixes the fuel and air around your equipment for the combustion required for these to work. But you should note that this needs to be closed down when the user fills up their generator with fuel.
If you had forgotten to do this, then that might be the fuel in your device was leaking. Simply closing off the carburetor should allow your device to start working again without any more issues. Though, if that does not work out then the problem can be due to two main reasons.
Either the fuel is leaking out of your air filters. Alternatively, this can also happen if there is an issue with your float valves. You will have to identify what part is causing the error and then get it replaced with a new one to fix your problem.
- Generator Not Starting Up
Another common issue that people get is that their generator stops functioning. The first thing that you should check in this case is the fuel tank for your device.
While most people think that even if there is a small quantity of oil left in their tanks, then the generator should work without any issues. Though this Is not the case and most generators like the Generac IQ2000 require you to keep the tank in them filled at least 1/3 of the way up.
Without this, the device can stop functioning anytime. Considering this, fill in the fuel to start using your device again.
- Electrical Issues
If your inverter generator is still not starting up then the problem can be from your wiring instead. Usually, if the fuel in your device is filled up and it is still not starting then the equipment is not receiving power from the backend.
You can check your sockets and wiring using a voltmeter. Confirm that all of these are supplying the required voltage and none of these are fluctuating. If there are any issues with these then either replace them with new ones or use a spare outlet instead.
Aside from this, another thing that the user should check is the batteries in their vehicle. Make sure that water in these is filled up completely to ensure the devices are getting charged.
You will also have to clean up the terminals on your battery as well. These can get covered with small layers of carbon or oxide which will then prevent current from flowing through them.
If you notice that these have become stuck on your battery then pour on some warm water on your terminals to clean them off completely.
