People all around the world enjoy going out on camping trips. There are even some enthusiasts that stay on their trips for months at times. Considering this, there is a high chance that they own large vehicles like motorhomes and RVs. These come with numerous features that make them amazing to use. Although, you should note that there are also many problems that you can run into with these. One of the most common ones that you will notice is that the driving performance of these vehicles is not always as smooth as a car.

This is why it is recommended that you keep the tires of your motorhome in check at all times to prevent this. An easier solution for this is installing a pair of tire monitors. Talking about this, one of the best ones that you can get is from TST. Although, there are also some issues that you can get with these. This is why we will be using this article to provide you with some common troubleshooting steps that can be used to fix issues on the TST tire monitor.

TST Tire Monitor Troubleshooting

1. Check Installation

The main benefit of getting yourself a good pair of tire monitors like the ones from TST is that you will be kept notified about the pressure ratings in your wheels. Although, when you first purchase these, it is important to note that there is a complete installation process that has to be followed. Considering this, most people complain that their tire monitor was not working when they first got it.

The main reason behind this is that you most likely do not have it installed correctly. Following the manual that comes with this device will help you in ensuring that there are no problems. If you are still confused then you can also contact the customer support team for TST.

They will guide you throughout the process so that the device works as intended. In case the tire monitors are still not working, make sure that all the wires are tightly connected. Sometimes these can come off which prevents the device from functioning correctly. Additionally, if you notice any damaged or broken wires then get these replaced with new ones.

2. Tire Pressure Light Is On

Another problem that people run into with this monitor is that the tire pressure light on it gets active. Although, you should note that this means that either your tires are running too cold or there is a leakage on them. Considering this, you should carefully check your tires to see if there is a problem with them. Keep in mind that ignoring the light is not recommended as a puncture on your tires will decrease its health, affect your vehicle’s fuel economy and even cause stability issues.

Although, sometimes even after you have fixed your tires, the alert light on your monitor still stays on. Considering this, the first thing that you can try is driving around for some time. After 10 to 15 minutes of driving at a normal speed should help the monitor notice that your problem is now fixed. It will then switch off on its own and you can continue using your vehicle. In case the light is still on, you can move on to the next step to help you out.

3. Configuration Errors

Finally, another common issue that you can get on your tire monitor from TST is its configurations. You have to keep in mind that a lot of options have to be set up before these sensors can start working. Considering this, if you are getting errors on your configurations then the first thing that you should try doing is clean your sensors. Make sure that you do this carefully as applying too much force can damage these.

If the problem persists then you can try resetting the device. This can be done by holding down the TPMS reset button for some time until the LED light on it blinks three times. Once this is done, you will have to wait for about 20 to 30 minutes before the sensors and configurations are completely reset. Although, the problem you were getting should be fixed along with this. Even the tire pressure light issue can be resolved by this reset button.

  1. We are using our TST monitor for our first trip in our RV. It keeps beeping saying tire temperature is 313. We pulled over and after a few mins it went away and displayed the correct tire temperature. Is this a common issue? It continues to do it.
