RV Queen Mattress vs. Regular Queen Mattress

To rest well every day is essential for the correct functioning of our organism. Each person has his or her own needs, and not all of us need to rest the same hours, either because of our own physical characteristics or because of external factors, such as stress or physical activity.

When we talk about sleeping in an RV there is no difference in this, it’s just as important as our home, sometimes even more important after being on the road for hours and days, you want to be comfortable so you can relax without worrying about anything else. It is important that you do some research before buying a mattress for your RV if it doesn’t include one. Since RVs have much more limited space, you need to make sure the mattress will fit entirely so you don’t have to worry about making unnecessary returns, etc. Today we will compare RV queen mattresses (Also called short queen) and regular queen mattresses.

Cost

This is usually what makes or breaks a deal on any product, but luckily you won’t have to decide between quality over price on this one. Both the mattresses can be purchased around the same price, of course, it will all depend on the brand or where you buy it. You can find them both really cheap if you are on a low budget, you can probably find one starting around $250 USD and up. It’s all about searching what materials you want, of course, the most luxurious with special memory foams will be on the high-end tier but they are probably worth it if you are planning on spending a lot of time inside your RV. Who doesn’t want to sleep on a comfortable and soft bed instead of a stiff one?

Sizes

This category is pretty much the one big difference between the 2 of them. Like we mentioned before, an RV queen is also called a short queen, measures 60 x 75 inches while its “sister” the regular queen measures 60 x 80 inches. 5 inches may not seem a lot but they can surely make a difference. We have to remember space is limited inside an RV and people want to make use of any extra space as much as they can, no matter how small it is. Also, these shorter models are recommended for people who usually need more room to their sides, instead of room for their feet. If you are an avid fetal position person when you sleep and like to move around a lot, they are ideal for you!

Make sure to measure correctly and in detail the area where you want to place your mattress so you can properly decide which option is better for you and your family. Also, it’s important to mention that while prices on both are the same, RV queens are slightly less common than regular ones, so you might struggle a little bit finding a big catalog, but doing some research is always helpful! Look out for RV mattresses manufacturers specifically if that is what you decide to do.
