💡Kids Pack Weight Tips

Shift dense items early: If the result is near the limit, move water, lunch, and spare clothing to an adult pack first. The child can keep small essentials they can reach without unpacking everything.
Test before camp: Have the child wear the loaded pack for a short neighborhood walk. Recalculate with the actual scale weight and choose a bigger parent split if posture or mood drops quickly.

How to Use the Calculator

Take things out and repack so that heavier stuff is higher up and closer to the back of the pack. Lighter things goes lower. Recalculate when things come out. It should be a straight line from head to toe. Once you get it right there is no gear there, and your kid won’t remember they’re wearing it at all.
