8Fuel range tips

Use logged economy when possible. A sled that normally gets 13 mpg on groomed trails may only deliver 7 or 8 mpg in deep snow, towing, or repeated stuck recovery.
Protect the return fuel first. For out-and-back rides, compare the safe range to twice the distance out, then turn around early if snow depth, wind, or temperature worsens.
Count idle time. Warmup, long regrouping stops, and recovery work burn fuel without adding distance, so they should reduce the usable fuel before range is calculated.
