tent poles, those long poles that help to keep your shelter standing, must be solid and simple to work. Even so there are a lot of reasons to think, when you decide, what materials go in your tent. They range by materials, forms and sizes, and choosing the right one matters more than many folks think.

A new set of poles can cost more then buying a whole new tent. With cheap tents, not even worth it to replace them fully. Even so, split poles not always are hopeless.
I know folks that fix them at home by means of gluing the split, wrapping steel wire around it for strength, and adding glue on top. If done well, such repairs on the poles can last surprisingly.
